Man ill tell ya, i must have listened to this album several times before finding out Hekseri are from fucking Boston. Thats right, Boston, right here in the US. Not some unknown town in Norway called Boston. Moving on, Hekseri means Witchcraft in both Danish and Norwegian, nice little fun fact for you. And they play a type of black/death metal with some thrash thrown in there, it can be quite brutal at times like a perfect soundtrack to march to war to, while at other times there is a nice undercurrent of well placed melody. This melody comes from the riffs as the vocals are completely brutal and vicious. Said vocals come from the scorched throat of a couple of ladies named Larissa and Megan, and get this, they also are the guitarists (two thirds of this band are women), fucking awesome. Absu fans should find some enjoyment here.
