Apophis is a death metal band from Germany you probably havent heard of. They have been around since the early 90s and play a somewhat melodic style death metal with egyptian mythology themed lyrics (sometimes the occult as well, how can you go wrong?). So sure, they have been doing it longer then Nile, but sonically the two dont sound the least bit similar, for better or worse. The songs are well composed and executed, so you should have no qualms about giving them some cred.
