Japans Sabbat have been around since the 80's. They probably have close to a hundred releases, and im not even kidding. They started out a fairly standard thrash band yet always had that quirky japanese flair, later on they adopted black metal elements while keeping the thrash. Enter black thrash. This album however is a different beast ENTIRELY, and they clearly were inspired to experiment. While having all the old influences (black metal, thrash, speed metal) there is a fair amound of progressive influences here. I mean how could you have an hour long song without it? Yes, hour long song. While the album is titled the dwelling, the actually track is titled the melody of the death mask. I havent read the lyrics but i understand it is an epic tale of horror, and while i already liked Sabbat, that was enough for me to check out this stand out release.
