Jaguar - Power Games
Heres a piece of somewhat unsung NWOBHM. Its no Angel Witch or Cloven hoof, but still an enjoyable piece of speedy melodic british steel. The riffs and solos are excellent, solid rhythm section, but the vocalist was probably the weakest link.

Hell - Human Remains
Hell was a promising NWOBHM band dating back to the early 80's. They put out a stream of demos until 86 before disbanding only to recently reform to release this excellent full length. I have not heard the early demos but this should please most fans of Mercyful Fate and Angel Witch! Excellent although over the top theatrical vocals, galloping rhythms and top notch NWOBHM riffing a plenty.

Decimator - Carnage City State Mosh Patrol
Heres a little gem of an album i found recently, i must say the artwork was definitely what caught my eye. Im a huge fan of anything post apocalyptic, and it all started with the mad max trilogy, which was an inspiration for the theme of this album. From there, we have kind of a judas priest/motorhead mash up, with some thrash tossed in for flavor. Upon listening, the first thing you will notice is the vocals, i dont know if the dude means to sound so gruff, or is his voice just always so abrasive, hence the Lemmy comparisons. The guitars play simple, catchy nwobhm and thrash riffs and some tasteful solos to boot, while the drumming is painfully simplistic. All in all this one hell of a fun listen, thats all that really matters.

Samson-Head On
Ok, not the Holy Grail of NWOBHM and the song titles would give one the impression that this album caters to a predominantly male gay audience, it's a significant metal release nonetheless. As most metal heads would point out, this is the album that debuts Iron Maiden's own Bruce Dickinson. A lesser known fact is that Maiden's former drummer, Thunderstick, also appears on this album. The other two musicians who play on the album, including founding member/guitar player Paul Samson would succumb to cancer.

Oz - Fire in the Brain
"They tie you to the altar and they did your clothes away
The priest just makes them to the stand they all around her sway
The pentagram begins to glow your heart is pumping fast
This night will be your last"
Not that I'm exactly positive about this, so don't quote me, but Oz might be the first legitimate heavy metal band from Finland. Their first album titled "Heavy metal heroes" was released in 1982, the follow-up is 1983's "Fire in the Brain", which is also by far their best. While "Heavy Metal Heroes" is very generic, boring and uninspired, "Fire in the Brain" is some pummeling NWOBHM inspired face melting metal mayhem. 80's metal, the way it should be remembered. The awesome occultish lyrics were surely enough to drive Tipper Gore and her band of ugly uptight hags over the edge. Unfortunately, Oz moved away from such lyrical subjects in future released.
I consider this a real important release for the time period. It's recommended that you quit being a poser and spin this shit.
