I havent done a very good job in professing my love of finnish black metal on this blog. I love the raw and primitive approach of the finns when it comes to orthodox black metal, they nail it perfect when it comes down to the right way to make true black metal. Enter the first album by Vordr. The first time i hear Vordr, the combination of Horna and Bone Awl instantly came to mind, and now that i mentioned that i imagine you can see where im coming from. Once again raw and visceral the way it must be, yet Vordr doesnt sound all THAT much like Horna, Sargeist, Behexen, etc. Fans of Ildjarn, Darkthrone, Burzum, and early Horna should rejoice upon hearing the primordial sounds of Vordr.
