New Demoncy album?!?!?!

What the fuck? When did this happen? Why? Why did i know absolutely NOTHING about this? Ok ill admit right now im a little drunk and antsy, waiting for a girl to come over so i can try and seduce her with my drunken rants about metal and my profound hatred of life on this planet, and maybe touch a boob or two in the process. But lets get back on track, i love Demoncy. One of the best black metal bands to ever fester on US soil and their first in 9 fucking years. Their 2003 release being the underrated Empire of the Fallen Angel was not received as well as their earlier work such as the now classic Joined in Darkness, and a string of great demos (especially Faustian Dawn).

I guess i was just posting this to say go buy the album, and im not fucking posting it because i dont post new albums. So many generic blogs out there that post every fucking new album and its way too easy to do that, and frankly it just makes music more and more disposable. Call me old but i remember the days when you could hardly sleep the night before a new a release you had been anticipating. You were at the record store even before they opened and ran in to grab whatever album you were seeking as if everyone was going to take it from you. Then you would get home and rip it open, and listen to it as you studied the artwork and every bit of the liner notes, but nowadays i feel a lot of that is gone and i hate it. Having said all that, if you are still reading you are either very patient or very bored. And if you do happen to frequent this blog i thank you for possibly being on the same page as my constantly bitching and moaning ass. Go buy the new Demoncy.

Thanks for the Submissions!

For those of you that submitted demos and notice i have not posted them, i just wanted to say thanks for sharing your music with me, and in return i will gladly post them in the near future (next week im thinking). So, no big deal, just wanted to let you all know that im not ignoring you and your bands, and am more then willing to promote bands that play styles of music that i enjoy.

Absu album set for release

Recorded at Nomad Recording Studios in Carrollton, Texas, Abzu finds drummer/vocalist Proscriptor and bassist/vocalist Ezezu sharing equal vocal duties and debuts the skills of new guitarist Vis Crom. Proscriptor comments, "Abzu is the first studio release to feature a co-vocalist alongside myself since our third album, The Third Storm of Cythraul. Ezezu's vocal presentation is beyond superlative and I am overly pleased with his execution and delivery. The songwriting undertakings were equally distributed between both Ezezu and Vis Crom and I must admit it brings an admirable multiplicity to the album as a whole. The last song on the album, "A Song For Ea," was composed in six movements, as it brought the entire band together as an equivalent songwriting team. Vis Crom has definitely proven to be Absu's most proficient guitarist in the history of the band."

Writing began on Abzu last autumn as Proscriptor notes, "This album has not only been the most challenging in Absu's discography, but the quickest paced – composition and arrangement wise. The current line-up is scattered all across the United States, so the album was physically written utilizing internet file sharing. We even rehearsed, at times, while communicating via cell phones. Lyrically, the album descends deeper into Enki's lower world as well Thelemic and Enochian Magic(k) Systems. My lyrical architecture is extremely convoluted, so I decided to create a generalized synopsis explaining the themes behind each song. I feel these are my best poems since 2001's Tara."

Abzu has benefited from the unity of the band despite limited face-to-face rehearsal time. In fact only two proper rehearsals were had; one preparing for the band's dates with Immortal earlier this year. The six-date showcase tour was the first live American dates for the band since their headline tour in June of 2009. Proscriptor confirms, "We rehearsed one week prior to the tour supporting Immortal and exactly one week after in preparation for the studio experience. I can honestly say this is the first time Absu has rehearsed for only one week, as an entire unit, before entering the studio."

Until we can stop acting like droopy eyed armless children...

I have deleted the chatbox. Boo yeah! Enjoy your weekend.

As above, so below

Hey kids, the other day i sent out some emails to a few people who used to frequent the old blog Garrett and I used to contribute to. Would be cool to have the majority of those guys chatting it up with us here, just like the days of old. And to those mentioned, pass this along to the others i missed, if you can.

New Possessed Lineup!!!

The first photo of the new lineup of the reactivated California death metal pioneers POSSESSED can be seen below.

POSSESSED 2011 is:

* Jeff Becerra - Vocals
* Emilio Marquez (SADISTIC INTENT) - Drums
* Tony Campos (STATIC-X, PRONG, ASESINO) - Bass
* Kelly Mclauchlin (DIABOLIC, UNHOLY GHOST, PESSIMIST) - Guitar
* Daniel Gonzalez (NAILSHITTER, OCCISAS) - Guitar

Commented Becerra: "I am quite happy with this new lineup and truly respect every member in the band now. It just makes everything so much easier and worth while whenever everyone is as into the music as I am. Also the professionalism and dedication is unwavering. These guys came in with guns blazing and knew the songs so well that even the first time around they were playing them almost perfectly.

"Kelly is great guy. Easily one of the coolest musicians that I have ever met. Daniel is also just a nice guy all the way around, but such a mean player at the same time. And, of course, Tony is an amazing bass player and technically perfect.

"It was incredible for me to see and hear my songs played the right way for the first time in over 20 years. I just couldn't ignore the many fans that were writing, calling, and telling me in person, respectfully, that POSSESSED didn't sound right tuned down. Also I was able to sit with these guys and go through every single part of the songs and work them out technically so that they once again sounded great.

"I want POSSESSED to be like the old days which, while very fun, were also very serious in our presentation and meticulous and fully dedicated to the music and playing well as a whole.

"Finally, for the first time since the '80s, I have found a group that are able to not only play well but also have the brotherhood and respect for one another that just makes it so much better.

"I just can't help but feel that this lineup was meant to be... and no matter what happens in the future good or bad, I am honored that I have the chance to play music with these guys and am hoping for the best.

"These guys, like me, are down for the work and the music and have a work ethic that is beyond reproach."

POSSESSED's last lineup featured sole original member Becerra backed by musicians from California's SADISTIC INTENT.

NERGAL REPORTEDLY BACK IN THE HOSPITAL

It was only two weeks ago when we reported the good news that Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski left the hospital shortly after receiving a bone marrow transplant for his leukemia. However, we now report that only six weeks after the transplant procedure, Nergal is back in the hospital. According to Fakt.pl, Nergal has been readmitted to the hematology division of Uniwersyteckie Centrum Kliniczne (UCK) in Gdansk due to a development of infections. At the moment, the state of his condition and how long he will have to stay in the hospital is not publicly known.

It is extremely sad to see this happen, especially after he appeared to be doing so well. Hopefully Nergal will once again get on the right path to recovery. Though when one’s immune system is weak, such infections can prove to be dangerous, even life-threatening. As always, we will keep you updated when more is revealed about his condition, and our best wishes go out to Nergal and his family/friends.

I copied this from http://www.metalinsider.net/ as i didnt want to get any of the facts wrong. I am not a god damn reporter! I do love me some Behemoth, and Nergal seems like a truly amazing person. Get well man.
